Stressing that the future of Andhra Pradesh is closely linked to the well-being of its farming community, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani said on Monday that agriculture remains the driving force behind rural prosperity and overall economic development. Marking the occasion of Eruvaka Pournami , he reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and improving the livelihoods of farmers across the state.

Addressing farmers during the celebrations, the MLA said that a prosperous farming community lays the foundation for a prosperous state. When farmers thrive, he noted, the benefits extend to every sector of the economy, creating opportunities for sustained growth and enabling public representatives to serve people more effectively.

Highlighting recent support extended to horticulture growers, Pulivarthi Nani expressed satisfaction that nearly 26,000 mango farmers in the Chandragiri constituency had received financial assistance worth around ₹17 crore . He described the support as a significant boost for growers and said it reflected the government's continued focus on farmer welfare and rural development.

The MLA credited the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for accelerating Andhra Pradesh's development agenda. According to him, a combination of welfare initiatives, infrastructure development and agricultural reforms is helping the state move forward at a rapid pace.

Emphasising the importance of water management , he said the government is working towards linking irrigation tanks and water bodies to reduce water scarcity and ensure year-round availability of irrigation. The initiative, he added, is aimed at enabling farmers to cultivate crops throughout the year while improving agricultural productivity.

Pulivarthi Nani also criticised opposition parties for allegedly spreading misinformation and attempting to mislead the public. He maintained that the results of the government's policies are visible on the ground and are benefiting farmers directly.

As part of the Eruvaka Pournami celebrations, the MLA joined farmers in the fields and ceremonially ploughed the land with a traditional plough, symbolising the beginning of the new agricultural season and reaffirming his solidarity with the farming community.
