20-Year-Old Held in Rajasthan Over Alleged Links to Pakistan-Based Gangster-Terror Operative
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district for allegedly maintaining contact with a Pakistan-based gangster-terror operative and sharing sensitive information, police said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Krish Rai alias Shan , a resident of Hanumangarh Town, was arrested in connection with a case registered at the Hanumangarh Town police station.
According to Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena , the accused had allegedly been in contact with Shahzad Bhatti , a Pakistan-based gangster-terror operative, through Instagram and WhatsApp over the past several days.
During the investigation, police allegedly discovered that Rai had shared videos and location details of the Hanumangarh Town and Raisinghnagar police stations with Bhatti. The case was registered on June 24 after intelligence inputs flagged the accused's suspected activities.
Police alleged that Bhatti uses social media platforms to establish networks and maintain contacts in India. Investigators are now examining the nature and extent of Rai's alleged communication with the Pakistan-based operative and whether any other individuals were involved.
Originally from Darbhanga in Bihar , Rai's family has been residing in Hanumangarh for several years.
Officials also revealed that two other individuals were arrested earlier this year in separate cases for allegedly being in contact with Bhatti. The investigation is ongoing to determine whether the latest case is linked to a broader network.
