Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the verdict delivered by voters in the 2024 Assembly elections was far more than a political victory, describing it as a mandate entrusted by the people to rebuild the state and restore its institutions, economy and development trajectory.

Addressing a massive public meeting titled "Two Years of Trust, Development and Welfare" at Daminedu village in Tirupati district to mark two years of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP coalition government, Naidu said the alliance's historic victory reflected the people's desire for change. He recalled that the coalition secured 57 per cent of the vote share and won 164 Assembly seats , which he described as a clear endorsement of its vision for Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu alleged that the previous YSRCP government had left the state in deep financial and administrative distress. He claimed Andhra Pradesh was burdened with debts of nearly Rs 10 lakh crore , while key sectors suffered due to policy failures, stalled projects and the flight of investors. According to him, central government schemes and irrigation projects were neglected, affecting economic growth and employment opportunities for the youth.

The Chief Minister also accused the previous administration of targeting political opponents and critics through legal cases and harassment. Referring to his own arrest and the challenges faced by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, Naidu said they continued their struggle despite political pressure and ultimately received the people's support.

Highlighting his government's performance over the last two years, Naidu said welfare and development were being pursued simultaneously . He stated that pensions worth Rs 65,000 crore had been distributed under NTR Bharosa, while women had benefited from more than 71 crore free bus journeys through the Stree Shakti initiative. Farmers, he said, were receiving annual support of Rs 20,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava.

The government has also filled nearly 16,000 teacher posts and around 6,000 constable vacancies , while clearing employee dues worth Rs 21,000 crore , he added.

Outlining the state's development roadmap, Naidu said Amaravati, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati were being developed as major growth centres. He highlighted fresh investments in defence, space and drone manufacturing in Rayalaseema and said Royal Enfield would establish a facility in Tirupati district. He also announced that Visakhapatnam was attracting companies such as Google, Cognizant and TCS, while Amaravati would host the proposed Quantum Valley innovation hub.

Naidu further said the state government had absorbed a power subsidy burden of Rs 4,668 crore without increasing electricity tariffs for consumers.

The Chief Minister credited the Union government for supporting key projects such as Polavaram, Amaravati, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and the South Coast Railway Zone . Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office, he praised the Centre's infrastructure push and welfare initiatives, saying India had witnessed rapid progress under Modi's leadership.

Reaffirming his vision of "Swarna Andhra 2047," Naidu said the government remained committed to creating long-term opportunities, strengthening governance and ensuring inclusive growth. He also reiterated support for 33 per cent reservation for women in legislative bodies once the constitutional provisions are implemented.
