In a major welfare push for farmers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday released ₹3,125 crore under the PM-Kisan AnnaDatha Sukhibhava scheme , transferring financial assistance directly into farmers’ bank accounts.

The event was held at a public meeting in Linganguntla village of Palnadu district, where the Chief Minister formally launched the first instalment for the ongoing 2026 kharif season . A total of 46.85 lakh farmers across Andhra Pradesh received ₹7,000 each , credited directly through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) as part of the coalition government’s flagship agricultural support programme.

Officials said the scheme aims to provide ₹20,000 per year to eligible farmers, fulfilling an electoral promise to strengthen rural incomes and reduce agricultural distress.

Beyond the financial rollout, the Chief Minister also reviewed on-site demonstrations of an oil palm processing unit and a waste-to-energy model plant , showcasing technology-driven rural development initiatives. As part of the broader Swachh Andhra–Swarnandhra programme , he also laid foundation stones for upcoming waste-to-energy plants in Kurnool district and Kadapa district. These projects are expected to be operational by December 2026 , according to officials.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected a natural farming field in Linganguntla village maintained by farmer Gudipalli Nagabhushanam , who has been practising chemical-free agriculture for the past four years. The farmer explained that natural farming has helped reduce input costs while improving soil health and yields through improved biodiversity.

The Chief Minister interacted with the farmer and highlighted the government’s efforts to promote chemical-free farming practices and raise awareness on sustainable agriculture across the state.

He also observed an organic groundnut oil processing unit , calling traditional and value-added rural industries essential for strengthening the village economy. At the farmer’s request, he spoke to his wife on the phone and purchased a litre of cold-pressed groundnut oil.

Later, he visited a cow-based natural farming resource centre , where preparations such as jeevamrutham, ghana jeevamrutham, and botanical pest repellents were demonstrated. The farmer explained how integrated farming practices help improve soil moisture retention and enhance long-term productivity.

The visit concluded with the Chief Minister reaffirming the government’s focus on combining welfare delivery, agricultural innovation, and rural entrepreneurship to boost the state’s farm economy.
