₹4.70 Crore Development Works Launched In Guntur West
A series of infrastructure projects estimated at ₹4.70 crore have been launched across the Guntur West Assembly constituency, with the focus on improving roads, drainage systems and flood-management infrastructure in several residential areas.
MLA Galla Madhavi laid the foundation stones for the works covering the 29th, 30th, 34th and 36th divisions on Saturday. She said the coalition government was giving priority to public welfare and basic infrastructure, particularly in areas that face waterlogging during the monsoon.
In the 30th Division, works worth ₹68.80 lakh will cover CC roads and drains along the 15th, 16th and 20th lines of A.T. Agraharam. Another ₹99.99 lakh has been sanctioned for a CC road, drainage system and RCC culverts connecting the 8th Line with the Sriramnagar road. A further ₹18 lakh will be spent on a CC road from the 10th Line to the 13/B Line.
The 29th Division will receive more than ₹1.82 crore for CC roads, drains and RCC culverts in Bandlabazar, Ramireddynagar, Iskcon Temple Road and Bhavanipuram. Together, the 29th and 30th divisions will see development works worth around ₹3.69 crore.
In the 34th Division, ₹51.07 lakh has been earmarked for drainage and RCC culvert works in Cobaltpet, Ashoknagar and Brodipet. Another ₹50 lakh from 15th Finance Commission funds will be used for drainage and culvert works in Shyamalnagar, the area behind the Army Recruitment Office and Sainagar in the 36th Division.
Madhavi said priority was being given to waterlogging-prone areas and that stalled projects were being revived after earlier delays caused by contractor-related issues. She also credited Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mayur Ashok with helping move priority works forward.
She said the coalition government was combining welfare with development and ensuring eligible beneficiaries received government schemes. Party leaders and workers from the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP, along with local residents, attended the programmes.
