Two Days After Disappearance, Minor Girl Found Dead in Odisha’s Angul

A 12-year-old girl who had been missing for the past two days was found dead under a bush in Angul district of Odisha on Friday, police said.

The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the NTPC Police Station. The deceased was a Class VIII student of a local school, a senior police officer confirmed.

According to police, a missing person case was registered after the girl’s father lodged a complaint when she did not return home. “Early this morning, we recovered the body of the girl,” Rahul Jain, Superintendent of Police, Angul, said.

Soon after the recovery, senior police officials, along with a forensic team and a dog squad, reached the spot and began an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police said further investigation is underway and all possible angles are being examined.
