After Bankipur Debacle, RJD Dissolves All Organisational Units in Bihar

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has dissolved its entire organisational structure in Bihar, including district, block and panchayat committees, along with various cells and affiliated organisational bodies, in a major restructuring move following the party’s recent electoral setback.

The decision was announced in an official statement issued by RJD Bihar president Mangani Lal Mandal late Thursday evening. According to the statement, all organisational units of the party at every level have been dissolved with immediate effect.

“The process of reconstituting the organisational committees at all levels across the state shall commence at the earliest,” the statement said.

The move assumes significance after the RJD’s poor performance in the recently concluded Bankipur bypoll, where its candidate Rekha Gupta forfeited her security deposit. The result triggered an internal debate within the party over its organisational functioning and electoral preparedness.

Recently, RJD leaders Bhai Virendra and Shakti Singh Yadav were involved in a public war of words, with both blaming each other for weakening the party organisation following the Bankipur debacle.

Reacting to the dissolution on Friday, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra said the decision was aimed at making the party’s organisational structure stronger and more effective.

He said only dedicated and capable workers would henceforth be given organisational responsibilities, signalling a possible overhaul of the party’s grassroots structure ahead of future electoral battles.
