Bhagyashri Borse, who earned attention with Akhil Akkineni’s ‘Lenin’, has landed a major new project. The actress has officially joined Mohanlal’s upcoming Malayalam film ‘Operation Ganga’, marking her entry into Malayalam cinema.

‘Lenin’, released on July 10, gave Akhil a much needed box office boost after his three year hiatus, while also helping Bhagyashri gain wider recognition. The film completed its theatrical run after around 40 days and emerged as one of the notable Telugu releases of 2026.

Bhagyashri will now share screen space with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in ‘Operation Ganga’, which was previously referred to by its working title ‘L 367’. The film was officially announced with director Vishnu Mohan, best known for ‘Meppadiyan’, at the helm.

The project is inspired by real events surrounding Operation Ganga, India’s 2022 evacuation mission during the Russia Ukraine war. However, Vishnu Mohan has previously clarified that the film is based on multiple real incidents and is not a regular army based movie.

The newly announced cast also includes Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, while Shashwat Sachdev, known for his work on ‘Dhurandhar’, has been roped in as the music composer. Sree Gokulam Movies, headed by Gokulam Gopalan, is producing the film.

The latest announcement makes ‘Operation Ganga’ an important addition to Bhagyashri’s growing lineup. It also gives the actress an opportunity to expand beyond Telugu cinema and make her debut in Malayalam opposite one of the industry’s biggest stars.

Mohanlal, meanwhile, has a packed slate that includes ‘Athimanoharam’, ‘Nedumkandam Miracle’ and several other high profile collaborations.
