After ‘Toxic’, Yash Expands Distribution Business with ‘Ramayana’
Actor Yash is expanding his role in the Indian film industry by taking charge of the Karnataka theatrical distribution of the upcoming mythological epic ‘Ramayana’ under his banner, Monster Mind Creations. After making his debut as a distributor with ‘Toxic’, the actor is taking on another major project with the ambitious two-part adaptation of the Indian epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ has generated considerable pre-release interest because of its scale, star cast and extensive visual effects. Yash is also playing Ravana in the film and is associated with the project as a co-producer.
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, bringing together two prominent composers for the epic's cinematic adaptation. The production is also being designed for an international theatrical experience, including an IMAX presentation.
The makers have arranged a territory-wise distribution network for the film's release. Monster Mind Creations will handle Karnataka, while Sony Pictures will oversee international distribution outside India. Dharma Productions will manage the Hindi-speaking market in North India, and Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations will distribute the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Think Studios will handle Tamil Nadu, while E4 Entertainment will oversee Kerala.
The film is planned as a two-part cinematic saga, with the first instalment expected to introduce the central characters, Rama's exile and the events leading to Sita's abduction. The story will build towards the conflict between Rama and Ravana, with the remaining narrative continuing in the second instalment.
‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, while the second part is planned for Diwali 2027. The film is expected to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
According to trade-tracking figures reported on October 26, the film had recorded approximately 2.16 lakh advance ticket sales across 161 cities, with gross advance bookings estimated at Rs 12.50 crore. These figures reflect reported pre-release activity and may change as the release date approaches.
With his involvement spanning acting, production and distribution, Yash is strengthening his presence behind the scenes while contributing to one of Indian cinema's most ambitious mythological projects.
