AI Was Used: 'Fauzi' Designers Clarify First Poster, But Fans Remain Unconvinced
Prabhas’ Fauzi has found itself at the centre of an unexpected AI controversy after the film’s first look left netizens debating whether the poster was entirely AI generated. Now, publicity designers Anil and Bhanu have addressed the speculation, revealing exactly where Artificial Intelligence was used.
In an interview with Gulte, the designers admitted that AI was used in the poster, but only for limited background work. They clarified that Prabhas’ face and body were not created or altered using AI. According to them, the scene featured in the poster is actually part of the film and was not designed exclusively for promotional purposes. They used AI to remove certain elements from the background after feeling that the original frame looked slightly messy.
The explanation, however, has not completely settled the debate. Some fans argue that the AI influence is still noticeable throughout the visual, giving the poster an artificial or digitally generated appearance. Discussions online have also focused on visual inconsistencies, with some users questioning details in the image. At the same time, others have defended the poster, suggesting that colour grading, editing and the unusual visual composition could be responsible for the AI-like appearance.
Interestingly, the poster itself had already created massive buzz before the AI discussion took over. It was released alongside the announcement that Fauzi will hit theatres worldwide on December 3, 2026, and the makers claimed it crossed more than 5.33 lakh Instagram shares within its first 24 hours.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is a period action drama set against the British Raj, with Prabhas playing a soldier. Reports have also linked the story to Azad Hind Fauj and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, adding to the film’s historical backdrop.
The controversy also comes after Prabhas’ The Raja Saab faced criticism over digitally altered promotional visuals. That history has seemingly made fans more alert to anything that resembles AI in the actor’s posters.
