AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday unveiled the party’s third phase of electoral promises for the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, announcing a series of welfare measures aimed at easing the financial burden on households and vulnerable groups.
Addressing party workers on the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa , Palaniswami said the AIADMK would provide a one-time financial assistance of ₹10,000 to every family if voted to power. He claimed the measure was intended to offset the economic difficulties faced by people due to the sharp rise in prices of essential commodities under the present DMK government.
The AIADMK leader also announced a monthly stipend for unemployed youth registered with employment exchanges . Degree holders awaiting jobs would receive ₹2,000 per month , while those who have completed education up to Plus Two would be given ₹1,000 per month .
In a major relief for the fishing community, Palaniswami said the assistance provided during the annual fishing ban period would be increased from the current ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 . He further promised a ₹1,000 Pongal incentive for all ration cardholders as part of the festival gift package.
The party also pledged to extend free electricity up to 450 units for handloom weavers and 1,400 units for powerloom weavers , aiming to reduce production costs and support the textile sector.
Additionally, Palaniswami announced that cooperative bank loans of small traders would be waived once the AIADMK assumes office.
These announcements form part of the party’s third phase of poll guarantees, with Palaniswami asserting that the proposals reflect the AIADMK’s commitment to welfare-driven governance and economic relief for the common people.
