AIMIM Worker Stabbed to Death in Vattepally, Police Hunt for Five Suspects

An AIMIM worker, Mahboob Ali (50), was killed after being attacked with knives by a group of assailants in Vattepally, Hyderabad, police said on Monday.

The attack took place near Mahboob Ali’s residence on Sunday night. Preliminary police findings suggest that five persons were involved in the assault, during which the victim suffered multiple knife injuries. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

Police suspect that one of Mahboob Ali’s relatives may have played a role in instigating the attack. However, officials said the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established, and the investigation is continuing.

The attackers fled the area after the incident. Police have formed special teams to trace and apprehend the suspects, while efforts are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the killing.

AIMIM MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited the victim’s family and expressed his condolences. He later met police officials at the Falaknuma Police Station and urged them to take stringent action against those responsible for the crime.

In a post on X, Mubeen said he was deeply shocked by the killing of Mahboob Ali, who was attacked by unidentified persons using deadly weapons in Vattepally. He called on the Telangana government and Hyderabad Police to strengthen patrolling and take firm action against anti-social elements.

The MLA also urged authorities to intensify action against drug-related activities and violent crime, saying stronger measures were needed to ensure public safety and restore confidence among residents.

Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s son, the Falaknuma Police have registered a murder case. The accused are currently absconding, and a search operation is underway as police continue their investigation.
