Air India Extends Riyadh, Dammam Flight Suspension Till Nov 7, Jeddah Till Oct 31
Air India and Air India Express on Saturday extended the suspension of flights connecting Riyadh and Dammam until November 7, while services to and from Jeddah will remain cancelled until October 31 amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the region.
Several Indian airlines, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, have also suspended services to Saudi Arabian cities amid security concerns following attacks at airports in the Gulf region.
"In view of the prevailing situation in the region, Air India and Air India Express flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam will remain suspended until 7 November 2026, while services to and from Jeddah will remain suspended until 31 October 2026," Air India said in a post on X.
The airline said passengers holding confirmed bookings issued on or before October 24 could opt for flexible rebooking or a full refund upon cancellation of their tickets. The two airlines had earlier suspended their services to Saudi Arabia until October 24.
Meanwhile, IndiGo on Saturday announced that flights to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah would remain cancelled until October 31 following an assessment of the prevailing situation. On Friday, the airline had extended the suspension of its Riyadh services until October 31, while cancellations for Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah were initially announced until October 27.
Akasa Air had also extended its flight suspensions, announcing on Friday that services connecting Riyadh would remain suspended until November 30, while flights to and from Jeddah would remain cancelled until November 10. The varying timelines announced by the airlines indicate that disruptions to air connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia are likely to continue over the coming weeks.
