Akhil Akkineni's Lenin Skips Premieres, Makers Opt for 5 AM Worldwide Release
With just two days left for release , excitement around Akhil Akkineni's Lenin is reaching fever pitch. While paid premiere shows have become the norm for most big-ticket Telugu releases, the makers of the much-awaited action drama have chosen to go against the trend, betting entirely on strong word of mouth from day one.
Producer Naga Vamsi officially announced on X that Lenin will have no premiere shows in India . Instead, the film will open with 5:00 AM shows across the country on July 10 , while overseas screenings begin at 4:30 AM IST , making it an almost simultaneous worldwide release . The unusual strategy has sparked discussions among fans, with many calling it a bold show of confidence.
The buzz surrounding the film has only intensified over the past week. One of the biggest talking points is that Jr NTR has lent his voice to the film, adding extra star power ahead of release and giving fans another reason to look forward to the action entertainer.
Adding to the hype, the recently released trailer has become a hot topic on social media. Fans have been decoding its symbolic visuals, intense dialogues, and hidden references , with many even suggesting the narrative carries shades of the Mahabharata , though the makers have kept the actual storyline tightly under wraps. Akhil's rugged makeover has also earned widespread praise.
Ahead of the release, Akhil Akkineni , Bhagyashri Borse , Nagarjuna , producer Naga Vamsi , and the team visited Tirumala to seek Lord Venkateswara's blessings. At the grand pre-release event, Nagarjuna confidently declared that audiences " won't see Akhil, they'll only see Lenin ," expressing complete faith in his son's performance.
The film also carries added emotional significance for Akhil, who is returning to the silver screen after nearly three years . The actor recently revealed that a freak bathroom accident , which resulted in 48 stitches and two surgeries , delayed his comeback even further after the disappointment of Agent .
Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu , Lenin stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead and features Shivaji, Brahmaji, and Easwari Rao in pivotal roles. The film is jointly produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Vamsi , while Thaman S has composed the music.
