Akhil Akkineni's Lenin Wraps Up Theatrical Run as Makers Celebrate Rs 100 Crore Milestone

Akhil Akkineni has every reason to smile. After weeks of a successful run in cinemas, Lenin is now nearing the end of its theatrical journey as fresh releases take over screens. The rural action drama has emerged as one of the biggest talking points in Telugu cinema this year, marking a much needed comeback for the actor after a string of box office setbacks.

The makers have officially announced that Lenin has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide gross collections, celebrating the film as Akhil's biggest career success. While trade estimates have reported lower figures, the production house continues to stand by its Rs 100 crore claim.

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the Rayalaseema based action entertainer struck a chord with audiences through its emotional story, mass action and family drama. The film also delivered Akhil's career best opening, giving the actor the strong box office comeback fans had been waiting for.

Following the film's success, an emotional Akhil thanked audiences for believing in him. Calling Lenin a victory for everyone who supported him, the actor said the response meant far more than box office numbers. He also revealed that distributors had informed him the film had already recovered its investment and moved into the profit zone, making the success even more special.

Bhagyashri Borse played the female lead, while Shivaji, Sunil, Ramki, Pramod Panju, Eeswari Rao and Brahmaji appeared in pivotal roles.

The film was jointly produced by Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna Akkineni under Sitara Entertainments and Manam Enterprises, with Thaman S composing the music.

With the theatrical run almost over, all eyes are now on the film's digital premiere. Reports suggest the ZEE Network has acquired the post theatrical rights, with ZEE5 expected to stream the film, although an official OTT release date is yet to be announced.
