All-New Audi Q3 Set for October 16 India Launch as Local Production Begins

Audi India has started local assembly of the all-new Q3 at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Shendra, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ahead of its scheduled launch on October 16, the company said Friday.

The German luxury carmaker said production of the new Q3 had begun at the facility. The model is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine and is equipped with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Audi said the SUV also comes with a range of segment-first features and technologies. The company’s release did not provide detailed variant-wise specifications or pricing for the India market.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the start of Q3 production was an important milestone for the company in India.

Arora said production of the all-new Q3 reflected the capabilities of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility, where the model will be assembled for the Indian market.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director, Audi India, said production had started ahead of the vehicle’s launch. He said the Q3 had been an important gateway to the Audi brand and that the new generation would build on that position with its design, technology and dynamic character.

The Q3 is being introduced in India as a locally assembled model, with production beginning before the October 16 market launch. Audi said the vehicle combines its 2.0-litre petrol powertrain with quattro all-wheel drive.

The company has not disclosed the vehicle’s price, booking details or the number of variants planned for India. It also did not provide detailed specifications for the features described as segment-first.

The production start comes at the Shendra plant operated by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India in Maharashtra. The facility is being used for assembly of the Q3 ahead of its entry into the Indian market.

Audi said the new Q3 will be launched in India on October 16. The company’s announcement focused on the beginning of local production and the model’s key powertrain details, while further market-specific information is expected around the launch.
