Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Raaka is turning into one of the most talked about upcoming Indian films, with fresh reports revealing intriguing details about its female characters. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, the sci-fi action drama is said to feature Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur in important, story-driven roles.

Deepika Padukone will reportedly play a pregnant woman whose fight for survival forms one of the film’s emotional threads. Her portions are said to be set in a Puranic Vedic era, adding a period layer to Atlee’s sprawling sci-fi world. Interestingly, Deepika’s real-life pregnancy has also aligned with the character’s appearance. She is expected to complete her portions this month before taking a maternity break.

Janhvi Kapoor is reportedly playing a tribal queen, described as a fierce and powerful leader who is integral to the world of Raaka.
