Alluri’s Legacy Will Continue To Inspire Generations: Home Minister Anitha

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and tribal icon Alluri Sitarama Raju on the occasion of his 129th birth anniversary , stating that his sacrifice, patriotism and courage would continue to inspire generations of Telugu people.

The birth anniversary celebrations were held at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, where the minister offered floral tributes to the statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju at the MPDO office premises. Sharing details of the event through the social media platform X, Anitha remembered the revolutionary leader as one of the most revered figures of India’s freedom struggle and a champion of tribal rights.

She recalled that Alluri Sitarama Raju played a crucial role in resisting British colonial rule and dedicated his life to safeguarding the interests of tribal communities. According to the minister, his fearless leadership and unwavering commitment to justice made him a symbol of resistance and patriotism. She noted that despite being only 27 years old , Alluri laid down his life in the fight against British oppression, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire people across generations.

Highlighting the significance of preserving his memory, Anitha said the Andhra Pradesh government has been officially celebrating Alluri Sitarama Raju’s birth anniversary as a State Festival . She described it as a matter of pride that the NDA coalition government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , is continuing efforts to honour the contributions of the legendary freedom fighter in a meaningful manner.

The Home Minister said that commemorating the life and sacrifices of Alluri Sitarama Raju serves not only as a tribute to a national hero but also as an opportunity to educate younger generations about the values of courage, selflessness and service to society. She expressed hope that his ideals and unwavering spirit would remain a guiding force for today’s youth.

Emphasising the enduring relevance of his legacy, Anitha said that as long as the Telugu people cherish their history and heritage, Alluri Sitarama Raju’s sacrifice will remain alive in their hearts . She added that his patriotism, determination and indomitable courage should continue to inspire future generations to work for the welfare of society and the nation.
