Amazon India announced an investment of over ₹2,800 crore this year to expand and modernise its operations network across the country, reinforcing its long-term strategy to improve delivery speed, strengthen logistics infrastructure, and support business growth.

The e-commerce major said the investment will be directed towards expanding and upgrading its fulfillment and delivery network while also enhancing the safety, health, and financial well-being of its workforce. According to Amazon India Director of Operations Karan Chugh , the company remains focused on building a faster, safer, and more reliable delivery ecosystem for customers across India.

As part of its logistics expansion, Amazon has strengthened its presence in West Bengal , where it launched four new delivery stations in 2025. The additions have taken the company's last-mile delivery network in the state to more than 100 delivery stations , enabling around 40 per cent of customer orders to be delivered on the same day or the next day.

Amazon's logistics network in West Bengal now includes two fulfilment centres, three sort centres, and over 100 delivery stations . Its fulfilment centre at Panchla in Howrah , inaugurated in 2024, has a storage capacity of 1.1 million cubic feet , allowing a wider range of products to be stocked closer to customers and improving delivery efficiency.

The company said its expanded infrastructure is also helping local businesses access customers nationwide. More than 70,000 sellers and 20,000 local shops from West Bengal are currently registered on Amazon's platform, while customer demand has grown across cities including Asansol, Bankura, Durgapur, Howrah, Kharagpur, and Malda .

Amazon said it will continue investing in logistics infrastructure across West Bengal and other parts of the country as part of its broader operational strategy. The company added that the expansion has created thousands of direct, indirect, and seasonal employment opportunities , supporting economic activity while strengthening its nationwide fulfilment and delivery network.
