AP Cabinet Approves Rs 22,177 Crore Investments, 19,739 Jobs

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has given the green light to major investment proposals worth Rs 22,177.84 crore, with the projects expected to create employment for 19,739 people across the state. The decisions were taken at the 57th Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Wednesday, based on recommendations of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB).

The approved investments span infrastructure, energy, industries, food processing, IT and electronics, and tourism. Infrastructure and investment projects account for Rs 8,000 crore and 3,000 jobs, while energy projects worth Rs 5,176.56 crore are expected to generate 2,240 jobs. Industries and commerce will attract Rs 4,332.49 crore and create 4,885 jobs. Food processing projects worth Rs 3,734.18 crore will generate 2,113 jobs, while IT and electronics projects worth Rs 526.25 crore are expected to create 5,736 jobs. Tourism projects account for Rs 408.26 crore and 1,765 jobs.

Among the major approvals, My Home Industries will receive special incentives to establish a Rs 3,000-crore greenfield cement plant at Gamalapadu in Palnadu district. The Cabinet also cleared a greenfield facility for Caterpillar India at Sri City and incentives for an MAF Clothing garment plant at Palarlapalle in Kuppam.

Land allocations were approved for the expansion of Dalmia Cement at Mylavaram and Agarwal Foundries’ steel plant in Tirupati district. The Cabinet also approved changes to the implementation schedule and incentive period for LG Electronics at Sri City.

The energy package includes a 675-MW solar project in Sri Sathya Sai district, solar-wind hybrid projects in Kadapa and Kurnool, and a compressed biogas project in Nandyal. Incentive revisions were also approved for a 3.6-GW TopCon solar cell manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam.

For Amaravati, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs 1,548.98 crore for water supply, sewerage, roads, stormwater drainage and street lighting. Another Rs 661 crore was approved for the Legislative Assembly building.

The Cabinet also approved DA/DR hikes of 2.73% and 1.82% for government employees and pensioners, involving an estimated Rs 4,556-crore financial burden. Further approvals included Rs 125.65 crore for Handri-Neeva canal works, financial support for cooperative sugar mills, and a Rs 1,000-crore HUDCO loan guarantee.
