AP Floats Tenders Worth Rs 221 Crore For 12 Healthcare Projects

The Andhra Pradesh government has invited tenders for 12 healthcare infrastructure projects estimated to cost around Rs 221 crore, aiming to strengthen AYUSH services, medical education and facilities at government hospitals.

Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav said on Friday that 10 of the 12 projects fall under the AYUSH department, while the remaining two are related to allopathic healthcare infrastructure.

Under the National AYUSH Mission, 50-bed Integrated AYUSH Hospitals will be established at Tekkali, Rampachodavaram, Nandigama, Tenali, Giddalur and Tirupati. The hospitals at Tekkali and Tirupati are estimated to cost Rs 10 crore each, while those at Rampachodavaram, Nandigama, Tenali and Giddalur will cost around Rs 10.5 crore each.

The government will also invest Rs 49 crore each in establishing a Government Unani Medical College at Proddatur in Kadapa district and a Government Ayurvedic Medical College at Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district.

Additional construction works worth Rs 3.04 crore will be taken up at existing 50-bed Integrated AYUSH Hospitals. The work will include facilities on the third floor to meet the clinical requirements of the medical colleges.

The plan also covers the expansion of allopathic healthcare infrastructure. The 50-bed Community Health Centre at Chintur will be upgraded into a 100-bed regional hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 21.9 crore.

Meanwhile, a new Outpatient Department (OPD) building will be constructed at Kakinada Government General Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 27.1 crore, aimed at improving outpatient services.

Minister Satyakumar said the tendering process for the projects is being conducted through e-procurement by the Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC).
