AP Minister Calls for Fast-Tracking MSME Expansion Across the State

The State government has intensified efforts to accelerate the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under its flagship ‘One Family–One Entrepreneur’ initiative . In a high-level review meeting, Minister Kondapalli Srinivas brought together senior officials from the Industries Department, SERP, APIIC, and the AP MSME Development Corporation to strengthen coordination and fast-track implementation.

Emphasizing the need to improve the Ease of Doing Business , the Minister called for simplified approvals and a time-bound action plan to ensure that new MSME units become operational without delays.

A key focus was the empowerment of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by transforming their income-generating activities into sustainable micro enterprises. He directed officials to enhance skill development and mentoring support while identifying viable industrial opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

Stressing convergence with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) , he highlighted the importance of aligning Central and State schemes to strengthen SHG-based enterprises. He also underscored the need to create adequate production infrastructure to avoid bottlenecks.

The Minister instructed APIIC to develop flatted factory complexes in demand-driven locations, with special emphasis on the Jakkampudi industrial complex , where spaces will be allotted on a lease basis to SHGs to encourage the establishment of micro industries.

Senior officials, including the Industries Secretary , attended the meeting. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to industrial development, the Minister called for stronger inter-departmental coordination to drive sustainable economic growth across the State.
