AP Pension Scheme 2026: New Applications Invited From Eligible Beneficiaries Till Sep 16

The Andhra Pradesh government has opened the application process for new social security pensions, offering eligible senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups an opportunity to receive financial assistance under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme.

Applications will be accepted from September 7 to 16 at Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward centres across the state. According to the government, as many as 61,92,396 beneficiaries are currently receiving pensions, with the state spending around ₹2,694 crore every month on pension payments.

The government will scrutinise the applications and verify the eligibility of beneficiaries before sanctioning new pensions in phases.

The first phase, from September 7 to 16, will include application collection, online registration and e-KYC verification. Officials will conduct preliminary eligibility checks between September 17 and 21.

Physical verification, departmental scrutiny and final eligibility assessment will be carried out from September 22 to 24, after which eligible applications will be recommended for approval.

The SERP will prepare budget proposals on September 25 and 26, with the government approval process also scheduled to be completed during this period.

Applicants will generally need to provide their Aadhaar card along with either a ration card or an income certificate. Widows must submit their husband's death certificate, while persons with disabilities are required to produce a Sadarem certificate establishing a benchmark disability of 40% or more.

Those applying under specific occupational or social categories must submit the relevant supporting documents. These include handloom workers, fishermen, traditional drum artists, toddy tappers, traditional footwear makers and transgender persons, among others.

The state government said it has spent ₹73,508 crore on pensions since the coalition government assumed office until September 1, 2026.

Under the existing pension structure, senior citizens and widows receive ₹4,000 per month, while persons with disabilities are paid ₹6,000. Beneficiaries suffering from certain severe illnesses receive up to ₹10,000, while those with complete disabilities can receive up to ₹15,000 per month.

The government has appealed to eligible people who have not received pensions so far to take advantage of the fresh application window and submit their applications before the September 16 deadline.
