AP Sports Minister Honours Young Skater Dakshinya for National Achievement

Young skating sensation Dakshinya from Vijayawada received special recognition from the Andhra Pradesh government after securing a silver medal at the recently concluded 8th Brandy Federation Cup Skating Championships in Goa. Andhra Pradesh Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs and Sports, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, congratulated the talented athlete during a meeting at the State Secretariat in Amaravati on Friday.

During the interaction, the minister felicitated Dakshinya with a shawl and praised her dedication, perseverance and sporting excellence. He said her achievement had brought pride to both Andhra Pradesh and the sporting community. Encouraging her to continue striving for higher goals, he expressed confidence that she would go on to achieve greater success at the national and international levels , earning further recognition for the state.

Dakshinya's accomplishments extend beyond her latest medal-winning performance. According to Big Champions Skating Academy coach Sheikh Khader Basha , the young skater has already established herself as a promising talent through several notable achievements at an early age. He highlighted that Dakshinya earned a place in the World Book of Records after completing an impressive 35-kilometre skating feat , showcasing exceptional endurance and determination.

The coach also pointed out that Dakshinya has already been honoured with two national awards , reflecting her growing stature in the sport. Her consistent performances and commitment to excellence have made her one of the emerging young athletes to watch in the state's sporting landscape.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Dakshinya's father, C.H. Sampath Kumar , and other members of her family, who joined in celebrating her latest achievement. The recognition from the state government is expected to further motivate the young athlete as she continues her pursuit of excellence in competitive skating and works toward achieving even greater milestones in the future.
