AP to Issue Mega DSC Notification in October, Exams Scheduled for December
In a major announcement that is set to bring relief and clarity to thousands of teacher aspirants across Andhra Pradesh, the state government has confirmed that the much-awaited Mega DSC notification will be released in October, with recruitment examinations scheduled to be conducted in December. The announcement is expected to reignite hopes among unemployed youth seeking government teaching jobs, one of the most competitive and sought-after career opportunities in the state.
Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat, Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar said the recruitment exercise is being carried out in line with the government's official job calendar and that the department has already prepared a detailed timeline to ensure the smooth conduct of the process. He urged candidates not to pay attention to rumors and misleading information circulating on social media and instead focus on their preparation.
Sasidhar also explained the reasons behind the delay in completing the recruitment process for nearly 6,100 teaching posts notified in 2024. According to him, the government had to address several legal and administrative challenges before finalizing appointments. Among the key issues were the implementation of horizontal reservations in accordance with court rulings and the need to coordinate the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) with the DSC recruitment process to avoid procedural complications.
Highlighting the government's focus on transparency, he said the entire recruitment process is being conducted through a secure digital system with strict access controls, minimizing the possibility of data tampering or examination-related irregularities. The General Merit List has been prepared by assigning 20 percent weightage to TET scores and 80 percent weightage to DSC examination marks. However, he clarified that candidates called for certificate verification should not assume that selection is guaranteed, as final appointments will depend on eligibility verification and reservation norms.
The briefing also addressed concerns surrounding recruitment under the sports quota . Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain clarified that all selections are being made strictly under G.O. Ms. No. 4 , which prioritizes achievements in National Games, National Championships, recognized university competitions and international events. He revealed that 382 candidates have reached the final stage of sports quota selection following an extensive multi-level verification process.
Officials reiterated that all appointments are being made in accordance with legal guidelines and with complete transparency, ensuring a fair recruitment process for all eligible candidates.
