AP to Set Up Logistics Facilitation Cells Across All Districts: M.T. Krishna Babu
The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a significant step to speed up infrastructure development by approving the creation of District Logistics Facilitation Cells across the state. The initiative aims to remove administrative bottlenecks and ensure that major projects are completed within the prescribed timelines.
The orders were issued on Monday by M.T. Krishna Babu , Special Chief Secretary of the Infrastructure and Investment Department. The newly proposed cells will function as a coordinating mechanism at the district level to streamline clearances and facilitate the smooth execution of development works.
These cells will place particular emphasis on aviation, logistics and large-scale infrastructure projects , which often face delays due to lengthy land acquisition procedures and multiple approvals. By establishing a dedicated system at the district level, the government intends to address such challenges more effectively.
The decision was taken after examining proposals submitted by the Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited . The government concluded that a specialised facilitation framework would help overcome obstacles and expedite project implementation.
At the operational level, the cells will coordinate land acquisition activities , oversee the transfer of government land and ensure the removal of illegal encroachments. They will also monitor the payment of compensation and the rehabilitation of people displaced due to project activities.
Apart from land-related matters, the cells will assist in arranging essential supporting infrastructure required for project sites. This includes preparing estimates for water supply, facilitating the installation of dedicated power lines and securing necessary approvals from concerned departments.
The government expects that this mechanism will significantly improve project execution and support faster growth in the state’s industrial and transport sectors .
