AP TRANSCO JMD Reviews Seva Setu Camp for Rooftop Solar in Vijayawada

AP TRANSCO JMD Surya Sai Praveen Chand visited the special ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ camp organised at Gunadala as part of the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in the AP CPDCL jurisdiction.

The JMD inspected the various facilities arranged at the camp, including counters for registration, public awareness, application processing, technical assistance and banking services related to rooftop solar installations. AP CPDCL officials explained the arrangements and the services being offered to consumers through the initiative.

Praveen Chand interacted with consumers who had visited the camp and sought to know how much they were aware of the PM Surya Ghar scheme. He also asked about the difficulties and doubts they had regarding the installation of rooftop solar systems, the application procedure and other related aspects. He sought details from officials on applications received, the subsidy available under the scheme and the process involved in setting up rooftop solar units.

The JMD particularly enquired about the support being provided to consumers from the time they submit their applications until they receive the eligible subsidy. He also spoke to bankers and representatives of solar power companies to understand the assistance and services being extended to beneficiaries.

Speaking during the visit, Praveen Chand urged eligible domestic consumers to take advantage of the PM Surya Ghar scheme by installing rooftop solar systems on their homes. He said adopting solar power would not only help households reduce their electricity bills but also encourage the use of clean and renewable energy.

He urged consumers to make use of the Seva Setu Abhiyan camps being conducted at the sub-division and district levels across the discom jurisdiction from October 6 to 8. Consumers can visit the camps to obtain detailed information about the scheme, clarify their doubts and submit applications for rooftop solar systems if they meet the eligibility requirements.

AP CPDCL Director (Projects and HR) TVSN Murthy briefed the JMD on the arrangements made at the camp, awareness activities and the assistance being provided to consumers from application submission through the installation of rooftop solar systems.

NTR district Superintending Engineer Hanumayya, Gunadala Executive Engineer Vishweshwara Prasad, AP CPDCL officials and staff, representatives of solar power companies, bankers and consumers participated in the programme.
