Saurashtra’s Aryan Savsani and Haryana’s Tanmay Baloda have been named as replacements for Rohit Yadav in India’s U-19 squads for the upcoming multi-format series against Australia U-19, the BCCI announced on Tuesday.

Savsani replaced Yadav in the One-Day squad, while Baloda was brought into the Multi-Day squad. Yadav, who was initially selected for both formats, was withdrawn after the BCCI found discrepancies in his age records. He has also been handed a two-year ban for allegedly misrepresenting his age.

The BCCI Junior Cricket Committee confirmed the changes, stating that Savsani, from the Saurashtra Cricket Association, and Baloda, from the Haryana Cricket Association, would take Yadav’s respective places.

India U-19 are scheduled to play three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day games against Australia U-19 later this month. The One-Day fixtures will be held in Rajkot on September 18, 21 and 23.

The first Multi-Day match will also be played in Rajkot from September 27 to 30, while the second is scheduled at the B Ground in Ahmedabad from October 5 to 8.

The updated One-Day squad will be led by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan as vice-captain. The squad includes Aaryavir Sehwag, VK Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid, V. Yashveer, Shavin Vinodh, Mohit Ulva, Chigurupati Venkata, Kavya Patel and Savsani.

For the Multi-Day matches, Yashbardhan Chauhan will captain the side, with Raichandani as vice-captain. The squad features Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Manav Krishna, Abhipray Biswas, Ishan Om, Ayaan Akram, Pranav Ragavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva, Aryan Yadav and Baloda.

The series will offer India’s emerging players an important opportunity to test themselves against Australia U-19 across both limited-overs and longer-format cricket.
