India enjoyed a memorable Day 11 at the Asian Games 2026, winning gold in shooting and athletics while adding medals across several disciplines. With the eight medals won on Tuesday, India’s overall tally now stands at 53 medals — 6 gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze. India is currently 10th in the overall medal table.

The day also produced major performances in boxing, volleyball, archery and other events, even as rain disrupted the cricket schedule. The biggest individual achievement came from Neeru Dhanda, who scripted history by winning gold in the women’s individual trap event. Dhanda scored 28/30 in the final to beat China’s Sun Yunong, who took silver with 26, while the UAE’s Hajar Abdulmalik won bronze. Dhanda became the first Indian woman to win an individual Asian Games medal in trap.

India had earlier won silver in the women’s trap team event through Neeru Dhanda, Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer. The trio finished behind China, while Kuwait took bronze.

Athletics then provided another golden moment. Kiran, Machettira Poovamma, Prachi and Vithya Ramraj won the women’s 4x400m relay in 3:29.69, ahead of Bahrain and China. It was India’s first athletics gold of the Games. Vithya added another medal to her campaign after her earlier bronze in the 400m hurdles.

India also collected bronze in the men’s 4x400m relay, with Dharmveer Choudhary, Manu Thekkinalil, Jay Kumar and Vishal Thennarasu clocking 3:01.61. Gulveer Singh added his third medal of the Games with bronze in the men’s 5000m, while Pooja Singh won bronze in the women’s high jump with a 1.84m clearance. India’s mixed 4x100m relay team also secured bronze in a season-best 41.06 seconds.

Boxing delivered further encouragement, with Parveen and Ankush Panghal reaching their respective finals, assuring India of more medals. Narender Berwal meanwhile secured bronze after losing his +90kg semifinal.

In volleyball, India produced one of the day’s most dramatic comebacks, defeating Qatar 3-2 after losing the opening two sets. The victory sent India into the knockout stage. Archers Dhiraj Bommadevara and Neeraj Chauhan also advanced, with Neeraj defeating South Korea’s Olympic medallist Kim Je Deok.

Rain once again affected cricket, with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh advancing to the semifinals after their quarterfinals were washed out. India will face Sri Lanka, while Pakistan meet Bangladesh.

Elsewhere, South Korea’s An Se-young successfully defended her women’s badminton singles title, becoming the first woman to retain the Asian Games singles gold. Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi and Mirai Ikeda won the inaugural Asian Games surfing titles and secured Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualification. North Korea and Japan also advanced to the women’s football final.

With shooting and athletics producing the biggest medal moments, Day 11 emerged as one of India’s most productive days at Aichi-Nagoya, with several athletes adding medals and others securing places in the finals and knockout stages.
