State Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy has reiterated that the government will procure every grain of paddy brought in by farmers, assuring full support during the ongoing procurement season. He made the remarks while inspecting the IKP paddy procurement centre at Bavuravupeta in Chennur mandal on Thursday and reviewing the process on ground.

The minister said this season has recorded a notably higher yield compared to last year, with an estimated procurement of around 1.70 lakh metric tonnes . He confirmed that the procurement drive will continue without interruption until June 6 . To prevent transport bottlenecks, he announced that three warehouses have been allocated in Peddapalli district for storage and smoother logistics.

Addressing operational challenges, he acknowledged a shortage of hamalis that caused some delays in handling and movement of stocks. To resolve this, the government has deployed additional transport support, including 40 trucks from Singareni and 45 trucks from the Mining Department, totaling 85 vehicles to ensure faster delivery of paddy to rice mills.

On the political front, the minister criticized the BRS , accusing its leaders of trying to create unrest among farmers despite smooth procurement operations. He alleged that former MLA Balka Suman , out of frustration after electoral defeat, was attempting to disrupt public order and mislead farmers. He also claimed that even BRS leaders had admitted their inability to mobilize support for protests.

Warning against damage to public property , he said strict legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to incite violence or disrupt government operations. He further alleged that the previous BRS government failed to provide adequate irrigation benefits despite heavy investment in projects like Kaleshwaram , adding that the current government had personally compensated farmers affected by backwater damage.

He also questioned BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao for not responding to the remarks made by Balka Suman and asked whether he endorsed them. The minister urged political leaders to act responsibly and avoid making statements that could mislead farmers or disturb public order.
