'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' OTT Release Date Locked For October 2 On JioHotstar

Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju's blockbuster rom-com 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' is finally heading to OTT. Directed by Girish AD, the film will premiere on JioHotstar on October 2, 2026, giving audiences a chance to revisit the Malayalam blockbuster just weeks after its theatrical release. The streaming date has now been officially confirmed by the platform.

The film arrived in theatres on August 21 as an Onam release and quickly turned into a major box-office phenomenon. It crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide in just 24 days, overtaking 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. It also became the first Malayalam film to cross Rs 150 crore from Kerala alone, with reports putting its Kerala footfalls at more than 90 lakh.

What makes the theatrical run even more notable is that 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' has continued to attract audiences even after completing a month in cinemas. The film has recorded repeat viewings and strong footfalls in Kerala, while also finding an audience in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the GCC markets.

The story revolves around Justin, played by Nivin Pauly, whose routine life changes after Ashley, portrayed by Mamitha Baiju, moves in next door. Their relationship forms the heart of the romantic comedy, with the film also exploring the people and relationships within their neighbourhood.

The film's Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions hit theatres on September 4, extending its reach beyond the Malayalam market. BookMyShow currently lists the film in Malayalam, Telugu and another language, while the OTT release is now set to take the story to an even wider home audience.

The supporting cast includes Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Bindu Panicker, Srinda, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan and Meenakshy Raveendran, among others. Girish AD co-wrote the film with Kiran Josey, while Ajmal Sabu handled cinematography, Akash Joseph Varghese edited the film and Vishnu Vijay composed the music.

Produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios, 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' now faces a different challenge on OTT. After rewriting Malayalam box-office records in theatres, the film's performance on JioHotstar will be closely watched when it begins streaming on October 2.
