Bhatti Vikramarka Invited to Bathukamma Filmmakers Challenge Awards
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has been invited to the awards ceremony of the Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge – Season 2, organised by the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TGFDC). The event will be held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad at 11 am on October 17.
A delegation led by M. Mukunda Reddy, Managing Director of TGFDC, and Konda Raju, Creative Director of the state government, met Bhatti Vikramarka and extended the invitation. Mamidi Harikrishna, Director of the BC Study Circle, and jury member Antadupula Nagaraju were also part of the delegation.
The challenge aims to identify and nurture the creative talent of Telangana’s youth while providing aspiring filmmakers with a platform to showcase their work and gain recognition. The initiative encourages young people to explore filmmaking, storytelling and digital content creation while presenting the state’s identity to a wider audience.
One of the programme’s key objectives is to promote Telangana’s history, culture, traditions, festivals and folk art forms through creative content. Participants are encouraged to communicate these themes through films, songs, videos and other forms of storytelling. The challenge also seeks to publicise welfare schemes implemented by the state government by presenting information through engaging and accessible formats.
The initiative provides young creators with an opportunity to highlight Telangana’s cultural heritage and distinctive traditions through innovative visual narratives. It also aims to connect younger audiences with the state’s history and cultural identity while giving emerging filmmakers greater visibility.
The second season has received a strong response from young filmmakers, content creators and social media influencers, according to the organisers. Participants competed across various categories, and the winners will receive awards at the ceremony scheduled for October 17.
The event aims to recognise creative contributions by young talent and encourage greater participation in filmmaking and digital storytelling. Through the initiative, the organisers seek to strengthen efforts to showcase Telangana’s artistic and cultural richness to wider audiences.
