Sharwanand’s upcoming Telugu film 'Bhogi' has unveiled a gritty and violent world with its teaser, offering a closer look at the actor’s rugged transformation as Kammari Ganga. Directed by Sampath Nandi, the period action drama is set in the early 1960s in a fictional village along the Telangana–Maharashtra border, where feudal power, tradition and violence shape the lives of ordinary people.

The teaser establishes a conflict after Ganga is taken away by the powerful landlords. What follows is a brewing revolt against the forces that have kept the villagers under their control. A devotional ritual also appears to be closely connected to the village’s fate, adding a layer of tradition and mystery to the otherwise hard-hitting action drama.

Sharwanand appears almost unrecognisable in the role, sporting a rugged look and delivering his dialogues in Telangana slang. His character’s anger comes through strongly in the teaser, particularly during a chilling warning involving nine steps, a sword and the blood of his enemies. The sequence gives a glimpse of the violent confrontation that awaits Ganga.

The film also appears to have an emotional core beyond its action. Director Sampath Nandi previously revealed that Ganga has five sisters, suggesting that family relationships will play an important role in the story. Anupama Parameswaran plays Kandula Sulochana Rani, while Dimple Hayathi portrays Mandaram. Their contrasting characterisations add another dimension to the rural world created by the filmmaker.

The production has been mounted on a sizable scale. Earlier reports revealed that the makers shot a major climax sequence over an extended schedule, with a large period village set and more than 800 junior artistes involved. Sharwanand also reportedly underwent extensive makeup for his transformation into Ganga, while stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan handled the action choreography.

Produced by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts, 'Bhogi' features cinematography by Kishor Kumar and music by Bheems Ceciroleo. The teaser’s combination of period detailing, folk elements, intense action and emotional stakes positions the film as a departure from Sharwanand’s more familiar image.
