The Telangana government is revamping its revenue administration to resolve long-standing land disputes and ensure legal ownership rights for farmers, Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said. He directed officials to make revenue services more transparent, efficient and accessible while ensuring that government decisions translate into tangible benefits for the public.

The minister reviewed the implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act, distribution of pattadar passbooks, land resurvey operations and pending land disputes at a meeting with senior Revenue Department officials at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Monday. He said the revenue system had deteriorated over the past decade due to neglect and self-serving decisions. Under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's guidance, the government is working to rebuild the administration and restore public confidence.

Ponguleti said the government introduced the Bhu Bharati Act to address land-related grievances and work towards a dispute-free Telangana. Since the legislation came into effect on April 14, 2025, authorities have issued 5,68,858 pattadar passbooks. Including 6,71,508 passbooks distributed earlier, the total stands at 12,40,366, according to the minister.

The government is conducting comprehensive land surveys to identify actual cultivators whose rights remain undocumented in revenue records, preventing them from accessing welfare benefits. The initiative aims to provide eligible farmers with legally recognised ownership rights.

In Narayanapuram revenue village of Kesamudram mandal in Mahabubabad district, resurvey operations helped resolve disputes involving tribal and non-tribal communities, securing land rights for 906 farmers across more than 1,600 acres.

In another initiative, surveys across 15 villages in Nutankal and Maddirala mandals of Suryapet district enabled 2,400 farmers to receive land titles covering 3,450 acres. Valid pattadar passbooks will help beneficiaries access bank loans, Rythu Bharosa assistance and other government welfare schemes.

Resurvey work is progressing in Mulukapalli mandal of Mulugu district, Palvancha, Aswaraopeta and Dammapeta in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, and Sathupalli mandal in Khammam district. The minister directed officials to resolve pending cases and issue passbooks to eligible landholders without delay.

The meeting also covered the proposed food park in Jangaon district. Revenue Department Secretary D.S. Lokesh Kumar, Stamps and Registrations Inspector General Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Jangaon Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and other officials participated.
