Salman Khan-hosted reality show 'Bigg Boss' Season 20 has crossed 100 crore watch-time hours on JioHotstar in less than 60 days, becoming the fastest season in the franchise's history to reach the milestone. The achievement highlights the show's growing popularity among viewers in India and overseas, with nearly half of the current season still remaining.

Premiering in September, the latest season also registered the biggest opening day for a reality show on JioHotstar. According to the streaming platform, viewers have cast more than 350 crore votes so far, marking a 71 per cent increase over the previous season. The number of fans participating in voting has also risen by 48 per cent.

The show's popularity has extended beyond India. Since its premiere, 'Bigg Boss 20' has featured among JioHotstar's five most-watched titles in the UK, Canada and Singapore. In the UAE, it is currently the number one show on STARZPLAY and has remained among the platform's top 10 titles since its streaming debut.

Salman Khan credited the milestone to the strong connection between the show and its audience, saying the excitement surrounding 'Bigg Boss' extends beyond the house, with viewers actively participating in every development.

Alok Jain, Head of Hindi and English Entertainment Business (Streaming, TV and Studios) at JioStar, said the season had achieved the milestone with almost half its run still to go. He attributed the response to increased audience participation through voting, polls and discussions, which allow viewers to influence the show's proceedings.

The show's strongest Indian markets include Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, along with Lucknow, Surat, Jaipur and Nagpur.

The platform also revealed that Gen Z accounts for 45 per cent of the show's total watch time, while viewership through connected televisions has recorded growth, indicating its reach across different age groups and viewing formats.

Produced by Endemol Shine India, the franchise is owned by Banijay Entertainment and has been running for more than two decades. 'Bigg Boss' remains JioHotstar's biggest entertainment franchise, with versions currently available in six languages. The Hindi edition is streamed live around the clock on the platform.
