Bihar Police Bust Fake NEET, Competitive Exam Paper Racket, Four Arrested
Bihar Police have arrested four people for allegedly running a racket that sold fake question papers of competitive examinations, including NEET-UG , to students and their parents through social media platforms.
The accused were identified as Harsh, Aman Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Harsh Kanodiya . They were arrested on Saturday evening from Muzaffarpur district, and police seized three mobile phones from their possession.
According to Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra , the arrests were made based on information provided by Manish Jha , who had been arrested on June 2 in a related case from the Balu Ghat area under Sikandarpur police station limits.
“During interrogation, it emerged that the accused were using social media platforms to deceive aspirants by claiming they could provide authentic question papers of examinations such as NEET ,” Mishra told reporters on Sunday.
Police said the group allegedly targeted anxious parents and students preparing for competitive exams , promising access to leaked papers in exchange for money. Payments were reportedly collected through online bank transfers and routed to Manish Jha.
Investigators are now examining the digital evidence recovered from the accused and tracing financial transactions to identify other members of the network and possible victims.
The case comes amid continuing concerns over exam-related frauds and attempts to exploit students preparing for high-stakes entrance tests across the country.
