
BJP announces candidates for RS polls, Nitin Nabin to contest from Bihar
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with party national president Nitin Nabin nominated to contest from Bihar.
The party has fielded a total of nine candidates across several states, including Rahul Sinha , former West Bengal unit chief, and Laxmi Verma , Chhattisgarh unit vice-president, from their respective states.
From Assam, the BJP has chosen PWD Minister Jogen Mohan and MLA Terash Gowalla as its nominees for the Upper House. In Odisha, the party has nominated its state unit president Manmohan Samal and sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sujit Kumar .
Bihar will see another BJP candidate, Shivesh Kumar , the state unit general secretary, joining Nitin Nabin in the fray. Sanjay Bhatia , a former Lok Sabha MP, has been nominated from Haryana.
The list of candidates received approval from the BJP central election committee, according to Arun Singh , the party’s national general secretary.
The nominations mark the party’s strategic preparations ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, reflecting its focus on experienced leadership and regional representation across key states.
