The Telangana BJP has strongly opposed the state government's land acquisition process for the proposed Integrated Fruit Market at Koheda , alleging that farmers are being deprived of their rights without receiving adequate compensation.

Speaking after meeting a delegation of affected farmers at the BJP state office, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said the government should not proceed with construction activities until fair compensation is paid to all landowners. He alleged that several farmers who have been cultivating the land for years have not received any compensation despite the government's move to take possession of their properties.

Ramchander Rao also criticised the police action against protesting farmers ahead of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's visit to the project site. According to him, farmers raising objections over the acquisition were detained before the foundation-laying programme and released only after the event concluded. He described the arrests as undemocratic and accused the government of suppressing legitimate concerns instead of engaging with affected families.

The BJP leader alleged that the administration pushed ahead with project-related works using heavy machinery without first resolving compensation issues, leading to tensions and confrontations at the site. He asserted that the party would continue to support the farmers' demands and stand by them until a satisfactory settlement is reached.

Ramchander Rao also challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to a public debate on the development assistance provided by the Central government to Telangana and the benefits extended by the state government to various districts. He said the BJP was prepared for an open discussion at any venue, including outside the Secretariat, if the Chief Minister was willing to participate.

The BJP state president further criticised remarks allegedly made by the Chief Minister against Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar during a recent public meeting in Mahabubnagar . He termed the comments inappropriate for a Chief Minister and accused the Congress government of displaying political arrogance . He also warned that continued attacks on BJP leaders could trigger a stronger political response from party workers across the state.

The controversy surrounding the Koheda Integrated Fruit Market project has added to the growing political confrontation between the Congress government and the BJP in Telangana , with farmer compensation and land acquisition emerging as key points of contention.
