BJP Focuses On Future Generations, Not Just Elections: Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are guided not only by performance in governance but also by clarity of intent , asserting that the party's vision extends far beyond electoral cycles and is centred on securing a stronger future for coming generations.

Addressing an intellectuals' meet and the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan in Secunderabad, Singh said the BJP's political philosophy is rooted in long-term national development rather than short-term electoral considerations.

"We are not concerned about what will happen in the next election. Our priority is what kind of India future generations will inherit," he said, adding that there is no gap between the party's words and actions .

The Defence Minister maintained that credibility remains the most valuable asset for any political leader and argued that the BJP has emerged as a force committed to restoring public trust in politics . According to him, the party has consistently worked to address what he described as a crisis of credibility in Indian public life.

Highlighting the NDA government's record , Singh said every rupee allocated in the Union Budget is being utilised with the objective of strengthening the nation , particularly in the areas of security and development. He also claimed that the current NDA administration has remained free from corruption allegations .

Drawing a contrast with the previous Congress-led UPA government , Singh referred to major controversies such as the 2G spectrum case , coal block allocation case and Commonwealth Games-related irregularities , saying corruption-related issues frequently dominated public discourse during that period.

He said Prime Minister Modi had made it clear from the outset of his tenure that corruption would not be tolerated . Singh added that India's defence expenditure has witnessed substantial growth over the years, noting that the defence budget has risen significantly compared to earlier allocations.

Expressing confidence in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) , Singh said the enthusiastic response from intellectuals and citizens in Hyderabad reflected the growing public support for the ruling coalition. He added that the NDA continues to enjoy widespread goodwill and remains committed to advancing the vision of a developed India .
