Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson Sheikh Baji on Saturday accused the CJP of acting as an “agent” of the Congress and alleged that the party had effectively turned into the ‘Congress Janata Party’ by selectively raising issues that suited its political agenda.

Addressing reporters in Vijayawada, Baji criticised the CJP over its reported visit to a village in Rajasthan following allegations of an attack on its delegation. He claimed the party was attempting to exaggerate a local dispute and project it as a major national issue in an effort to target the government.

Baji said around 20-25 children were studying at a primary school in Rampura Kanwarpura in the Bagru Assembly constituency, but alleged that the children were also being made to work as cattle herders. According to him, members of the CJP visited the village on Friday and got into an altercation with local residents.

He alleged that instead of focusing on broader public issues, the CJP was selectively highlighting incidents that could be used to advance its political narrative. Baji questioned why the party had not taken comparable action over paper leaks and unemployment-related issues in other states.

Referring to alleged examination paper leaks in Punjab and the JPSC paper leak in Jharkhand, Baji asked why the CJP had not launched similar campaigns or sustained ground-level protests over those matters. He alleged that the party merely raised its voice occasionally but failed to undertake meaningful action on issues affecting students and job seekers.

Baji further claimed that the CJP’s activities were driven less by public interest and more by an attempt to promote the Congress agenda. He said the party should explain why it remained selective in responding to issues across different states.

Meanwhile, the reported attack on the CJP delegation during its visit to Rampura Kanwarpura in Jaipur district led to tensions between the visiting members and local residents.

Responding to the incident, Jaipur police said FIRs had been registered based on complaints from both sides. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Lalit Sharma confirmed that police had initiated action on the basis of the complaints received from the two groups.
