Bollywood Actress Kirti Kulhari Loses ₹2.43 Lakh in Cyber Fraud, Mumbai Police Probe Underway

Popular Bollywood actress Kirti Kulhari has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to cyber fraud after unidentified scammers allegedly stole ₹2,43,852 by gaining unauthorized access to her mobile phone and credit card.

According to reports, the fraudulent transactions were carried out within just a few minutes before the actress realized something was wrong. She immediately approached the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai and lodged a complaint, following which a case was registered and an investigation was launched.

Investigators are examining banking records, tracking the digital trail, and collecting technical evidence to identify those responsible. Authorities are also working to trace the stolen money and determine how the fraud was carried out.

One of the key details to emerge is that Kirti Kulhari reportedly did not share her password, PIN, or other banking credentials with anyone, leading investigators to suspect that the scammers may have used a more sophisticated cybercrime technique instead of a simple OTP or password sharing scam. However, police have not yet disclosed the exact method used.

The incident comes shortly after the actress was seen in the streaming series Shekhar Home, making headlines once again, this time for an unfortunate reason.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the stolen amount has not been recovered. The Mumbai Police investigation is ongoing.

Cyber fraud cases continue to rise across India, with criminals using phishing links, fake customer care calls, malicious apps, SIM related fraud, and other digital tricks to target victims. Authorities advise people never to share OTPs, PINs, passwords, or banking details and to report suspicious transactions immediately through the cybercrime helpline or the nearest police station.

Even celebrities are not immune to online fraud, highlighting the need for extra caution while using digital banking and mobile services. Kirti Kulhari's case is another reminder that cybercriminals are using increasingly advanced methods, making digital awareness more important than ever.
