
BRICS MSME Delegates Arrive in Agra for Three-Day International Business Meet
Around 60 delegates from BRICS countries have arrived in Agra for a three-day international programme aimed at promoting cooperation and growth in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector .
Officials said representatives from several BRICS nations reached the city on Thursday, while the remaining delegates are expected to arrive later. Nearly 150 officials are also likely to participate in the programme, which will focus on strengthening MSME partnerships, innovation, and business opportunities among member countries.
The visiting delegates are staying at a private hotel in Agra and will attend the main MSME event on Friday. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Uttar Pradesh minister Bhupendra Chaudhary are scheduled to participate in the programme along with senior government officials and industry representatives.
The meeting is expected to provide a platform for discussions on enhancing cooperation among MSMEs, improving market access, and encouraging collaboration between small businesses across BRICS nations.
As part of their visit, the delegates will remain in Agra overnight after the programme. On Saturday morning, they are scheduled to visit the iconic Taj Mahal , followed by a tour of a footwear manufacturing unit to understand the functioning of Agra’s globally recognised shoe industry.
The delegation will also visit the historic Agra Fort before concluding its itinerary. The delegates and officials are scheduled to leave for Delhi on Sunday morning.
The event is being seen as an important step towards expanding economic cooperation among BRICS countries, with MSMEs playing a key role in employment generation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth.
