BRS Leader Krishank Questions Revanth Reddy Over US Trip And MoU
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has stepped up its criticism of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reportedly denied political clearance for his proposed visit to the United States.
BRS leader Mannne Krishank alleged that the denial of clearance had created an embarrassing diplomatic situation for the Telangana government and questioned the circumstances surrounding business agreements signed during the Chief Minister’s earlier US visit.
Krishank claimed that Revanth Reddy had previously signed a ₹1,000-crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an organisation called ‘Swachh Bio’ during his US tour. He alleged that the company was linked to the Chief Minister’s brother, Anumula Jagadishwar Reddy.
According to Krishank, the organisation had been incorporated only about two months before the visit and had no employees at the time the agreement was signed. He further alleged that complaints concerning the company had been submitted to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The BRS leader questioned the propriety of entering into an official government agreement with a company allegedly connected to a close family member of the Chief Minister. He described the arrangement as a possible case of nepotism and misuse of official position, while demanding greater transparency over the business dealings associated with the US visit.
“Is this not corruption? Is this not an abuse of power?” Krishank asked, questioning what kind of business interests the Chief Minister’s family was pursuing in the US.
He also raised allegations of possible hawala transactions and demanded that Revanth Reddy disclose details of any family-linked business activities or financial dealings in the United States.
The allegations come amid a political row over the MEA’s decision concerning the Chief Minister’s proposed US visit, with the BRS seeking answers from the Telangana government over both the political clearance issue and the business agreements cited by its leader.
