Yash’s much-awaited 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026, with expectations running high. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the period gangster drama has already generated buzz following its trailer and features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.

One of the film’s biggest talking points is its three-hour-plus runtime. While earlier reports suggested a runtime of around three hours and 20 minutes, current listings indicate a duration of approximately 3 hours 15 minutes (195 minutes). Such an extended runtime puts additional pressure on the narrative to maintain momentum and keep audiences engaged.

The concern is particularly relevant given the film’s intense content. 'Toxic' promises a violent gangster drama packed with action, betrayal and emotional conflicts. Its recently released trailer, which runs for more than four minutes, offers glimpses of a dark world and hints at a mysterious father-son conflict. Yash is also reportedly seen in multiple avatars, adding to the intrigue.

The film has received an A certificate from the CBFC, which could limit its appeal among family audiences. Reports indicate that certain portions were modified for the Indian release, highlighting the intensity of its content.

'Toxic' has also been mounted on a massive scale, with Rajeev Ravi serving as cinematographer and Hollywood stunt coordinator JJ Perry overseeing the action. Yash has revealed that the film was shot for around 200 days, reflecting its ambitious production.

At the trailer launch, Yash praised Mohandas’ creative vision and described the project as a challenging attempt to take an Indian story to a global audience.

Ultimately, 'Toxic' will need more than spectacle. Strong storytelling, emotional depth, compelling characters and sustained twists could determine whether its lengthy runtime becomes a strength or a drawback when it reaches theatres on August 26.
