Canadian Banking Giant CIBC Opens Global Hub in Hyderabad to Drive Digital Growth

Reinforcing its position as one of the world's fastest-growing technology and business destinations, Canadian banking major CIBC has opened a Global Capabilities Hub (GCH) in Hyderabad as part of its strategy to modernise operations and strengthen its international presence.

The new centre will support the bank's businesses across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia , expanding CIBC's global talent network while enhancing collaboration across regions. The Hyderabad hub is expected to play a key role in advancing the bank's digital transformation and improving operational efficiency.

According to the bank, the new facility marks another milestone in its ongoing modernization journey. It will help bring in-house several functions that were previously handled by third-party service providers , enabling faster execution of strategic initiatives and strengthening its client-focused growth plans.

The Hyderabad centre will work closely with CIBC's global teams to support technology, operations and business transformation projects aimed at delivering better services to customers across multiple markets.

Darryl Stratton, Senior Vice-President, Global Programs at CIBC , said the new team in Hyderabad would play an important role in the bank's continued transformation. He noted that CIBC already operates as a globally connected organisation, with teams collaborating daily across continents, and that the new office would further strengthen cross-border and cross-business cooperation.
