CBSE Brings Educators, Industry Experts Together to Bridge School-to-Work Gap
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is organising its fourth national summit on “Facilitating School-to-Work Transition” on October 26-27 to strengthen skill education in schools and prepare students for future employment opportunities, the Ministry of Education said on Monday.
The two-day summit, organised in association with Sahodaya School Complexes of Delhi-NCR, brings together school leaders, educators, industry experts and policymakers to discuss emerging workforce requirements and innovative approaches to career preparation.
Addressing the inaugural session, School Education Secretary T K Anil Kumar outlined four key priorities: technology, digital safety and skills; design, creativity and innovation; recognition of skills across education systems through the National Credit Framework; and career guidance with equitable pathways.
Kumar stressed the need for seamless transitions from school education to higher education, skilling and employment, enabling learners to make informed choices, pursue lifelong growth, contribute to society and live with dignity.
According to the ministry, the summit provides a platform for participants to exchange ideas, establish professional networks and develop partnerships to support students in navigating changing career opportunities. The event emphasises integrating skill education with mainstream schooling and breaking down barriers between different educational streams. The initiative aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which seeks to equip learners with competencies relevant to an evolving employment landscape.
Through interactive sessions and expert discussions, participants are exploring innovative teaching practices, emerging assessment methods, digital integration in education and effective models for strengthening skill-based learning. Educators from CBSE-affiliated schools are also presenting case-based papers and posters showcasing successful initiatives and best practices in skill education.
The summit aims to provide insights into emerging trends and transformative practices in school education, along with practical strategies to improve teaching and learning. The discussions seek to strengthen collaboration among schools, industry and policymakers, helping students prepare for higher education, vocational training and the changing demands of the workplace.
