Chandrababu Naidu Visits Balakrishna After Successful Knee Surgery in Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday visited veteran actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna at AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad following the Telugu Desam Party leader's successful knee surgery. Naidu met Balakrishna, interacted with the medical team, family members and NBK111 director Gopichand Malineni, and enquired about the actor's recovery. Balakrishna's daughter also assured well wishers that he is stable and recovering well.

Balakrishna sustained a serious left knee injury while filming an action sequence for NBK111 in Andhra Pradesh. After receiving initial treatment in Rajamahendravaram, he was airlifted to Hyderabad for advanced care. Detailed investigations revealed a torn left quadriceps tendon along with damage to the supporting tissues on both sides of the knee. During an approximately three hour surgery, doctors removed accumulated blood around the injury, reattached the torn quadriceps tendon to the kneecap and repaired the damaged stabilising tissues. The procedure was completed successfully, and the actor remains under post operative observation with a structured rehabilitation programme planned.

In a gesture of support, director Gopichand Malineni organised a special homam at the Kateamma Temple in Kambalipura, Huskur, near Bengaluru. Around 18 priests performed Vedic rituals praying for Balakrishna's speedy recovery, while a group of devoted fans also participated.

According to the latest reports, Balakrishna is expected to be discharged from AIG Hospitals shortly. Doctors have advised several weeks of rest before he resumes shooting, although the actor has reportedly instructed the makers of NBK111 to continue filming with the remaining cast during his recovery. Naidu's visit, coupled with prayers offered by the film's team and fans, reflects Balakrishna's stature as both a leading Telugu cinema icon and a three term MLA representing Hindupur.
