China has expressed firm support for Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States , underscoring the growing diplomatic momentum behind efforts to reduce tensions and achieve a negotiated settlement between the two countries.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed Beijing’s support during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar . The discussion focused on the ongoing Iran-US peace process and the first round of high-level talks held in Switzerland under the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar .

During the conversation, Wang Yi praised Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic engagement and its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He reiterated China’s “ unwavering support ” for Islamabad’s mediation initiative and emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter .

The exchange comes at a crucial stage in the negotiations. Pakistan informed China that the recent talks had resulted in the creation of a high-level committee tasked with overseeing the mediation process. The committee was established under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the United States and Iran last week, marking a significant step forward in formalizing the dialogue mechanism.

To accelerate progress, three specialized working groups have also been constituted. These groups will focus on key areas that have long complicated relations between Washington and Tehran: the nuclear issue , sanctions , and monitoring mechanisms . Their objective is to help pave the way for a comprehensive agreement within the next 60 days.

Officials view the latest developments as an encouraging sign that diplomatic channels remain open despite years of mistrust and geopolitical tensions. The involvement of regional stakeholders such as Pakistan and Qatar , coupled with support from major powers like China , is expected to lend additional credibility and momentum to the peace effort.

Both Ishaq Dar and Wang Yi reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to working closely in support of a negotiated settlement . They emphasized that a peaceful resolution would not only help end hostilities between Iran and the United States but also contribute to regional stability , economic cooperation , and broader prosperity.

The conversation highlights the increasingly active role being played by Pakistan and China in promoting dialogue-based solutions to complex international disputes, at a time when diplomatic engagement is being viewed as the most viable path toward lasting peace .
