CISF Bus Overturns Near Vaishno Devi Shrine, Three Critical Among Nine Injured

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) bus carrying security personnel overturned along the Tarakote route to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Sunday, leaving nine people injured , officials said.

The injured include eight CISF personnel and civilian driver Virender Singh . According to officials, the bus was returning to the CISF camp after the personnel completed their security deployment at the revered pilgrimage site.

Among the injured, Head Constables Sammy Kumar and M. M. Dubey, and Constable P. K. Traya sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Narayana Hospital for specialized treatment.

The remaining injured, including a CISF sub-inspector and the civilian driver, were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Katra, where doctors said their condition is stable .

Officials said the accident occurred on the Tarakote route, one of the key access roads to the shrine. The cause of the bus overturning is yet to be officially determined , and authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the mishap.

The Mata Vaishno Devi shrine witnesses heavy pilgrim footfall throughout the year and remains under a robust multi-layered security arrangement, with CISF personnel deployed to ensure the safety of devotees.
