CJP Protest Was AAP ‘Pet Project’, Alleges BJP, Slams Kejriwal

The BJP on Sunday alleged that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which organised a protest at Jantar Mantar over education-related issues, was linked to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and accused former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of using objectionable language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP IT department head Amit Malviya claimed that the protest was not primarily about education reforms or the NEET paper leak issue, but was a political exercise aimed at targeting the prime minister. He also alleged that CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and his associates had links with the AAP.

Malviya shared on X a video purportedly featuring Kejriwal discussing the Jantar Mantar protest. In the footage, Kejriwal is heard saying that those who took to the streets had come to “take on” Modi. We could not independently verify the authenticity of the video, and there was no immediate reaction from the AAP or Kejriwal to the BJP's allegations.

Malviya alleged that Kejriwal had effectively admitted that the protest, which was presented as a student-led movement, was a politically sponsored campaign directed against the prime minister. He further accused the AAP and Congress of using students for political purposes.

Several BJP leaders criticised Kejriwal over the alleged remarks. Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal accused him of attempting to turn a peaceful student movement into a political opportunity and questioned the language used against Modi.

Delhi minister Kapil Mishra also attacked Kejriwal, accusing him of using what he described as “Maoist-style language” against the prime minister.

Former Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva condemned the alleged remarks and said they reflected Kejriwal's state of mind. The BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit also alleged that the CJP's agenda was never accountability or education reform but was instead aimed at targeting Prime Minister Modi.

The BJP's allegations come amid heightened political exchanges over the Jantar Mantar protest and the issues surrounding education and the NEET examination. The AAP has not yet issued a response to the charges levelled by the BJP.
